Abstract:
Summary of some of the selection character issues for new cultivars of burr medic : for low rainfall regions (275-350 mm annual average rainfall) the earliest flowering varieties of burr medic have not been as productive as slightly later types under normal grazing conditions (particularly grazing through flowering). The optimum maturity should be equivalent to that of variety N3146 (Santiago). This is intermediate between the current commercial varieties Serena and Circle Valley ; High seed productio
