Ovine Johne's Disease (OJD) is a slow-moving progressive disease of sheep caused by Mycobacterium paratuberculosis. In some flocks OJD can cause significant economic loss after a number of years, however, you can economically manage the disease if your flock does become infected. Owners of uninfected flocks can also take measures to reduce the risk of their flock becoming infected. This Bulletin discusses the features of OJD, how to manage it, and which control measures to adopt to eradicate the disease.
