This Farmnote outlines water quality problems that may affect the suitability of water for farm, garden and household uses. It referes to water from bores, wells, dams and creeks. General information is provided on possible water quality problems in Western Australia, including salinity, iron in groundwater, biological contamination, bacteria, algae, pH, corrosion of pumps, metallic pipes and tanks, water for use with farm chemicals, carbonate and bicarbonate, boron, sodium, nitrates and other fertiliser trients.
