Towards the end of summer (and especially during low rainfall and drought conditions) the risk of water in dams, soaks, wells or tanks becoming polluted increases. This Farmnote discusses steps that should be taken if water does become polluted, including first actions, types of chlorines to use, how to carry out chlorination, alternative treatments to chlorination, limitations to this method, water analysis advice and animal health concerns.
