The Western Australian sheepmeat industry is based on two distinct products - lamb and mutton. Western Australia has significant quantities of both lamb and mutton available for export. The principal exporter of lamb is the Western Australian Meat Marketing Corporation which is a State Government agency having statutory powers to acquire most of lamb produced in the State.
