Fodder production in Turkey can most immediately be increased by replacement of much of the six million hectares of fallow land left idle each year with forage legumes and in Eastern Anatolia by replacing poor yielding cereals with alfalfa or sainfoin and by increasing production from meadows by agronomic methods.
