This project aimed to impact on the spread of salinity by reducing recharge in Western Australia by developing management options that maintain a profitable, productive grains industry. This project aimed to reduce recharge by replacing cropland with trees. Early indications suggest low density lucerne, possibly in a wide row arrangement associated with precision agriculture is a viable system worthy of further attention. This report also includes the first version and revised version of the "Code of goodgricultural practice for low recharge in WA cropping systems", Best Management Practice Pilot Project for the web and training manuals.
