Abstract:

The project aims where to identify the climatic and management factors that influence the staining of grain in wheat and barley; to identify resistant and susceptible cultivars in collaboration with wheat breeders in both Western Australia and Queensland for black point and sprouting, and further identify any plant structural attributes that affect staining severity; to collate information about the probability of sprouting of wheat occurring in Western Australia and identify the costs and financial risksssociated with staining in wheat.
