Abstract: "Fisheries managers often need to rapidly explore possible impacts of a range of potential changes to a fishery. ... Like flight simulators, ecosystem models can show what might happen if the environment changes or if managers make a decision to move management of the fishery in one way or another. ... Managers and the fishing industry would gain significant insights into the fishery if they had the ability to explore potential changes without the need to undertake specific research project. This need was identified in 2010 by AFMA managers, leading to a call for tools to fill the gap. In response a library of ecosystem model runs has been drawn together that spans a large number of potential management strategies and environmental scenarios. These runs have been accessible via a user-friendly portal (web interface) that can be explored from the user's desktop."--Non-technical summary.
