Wheat steak mosiac virus (WSMV) can infect many species of plants belonging to the family Poaceae including wheat, barley, oats, rye, and some varieties of maize, sorghum and millets, as well as wild and ornamental grass species - Brome grass, Digitaria spp., African lovegrass, barley grass, ryegrass and Phalaris spp in Western Australia. This Factsheet covers disease distribution, symptoms, spread, yield and quality losses, control options and sending samples for analysis.
