Report on Western Region Barley Improvement Program in Western Australia. The program has released Gairdner malting barley and Molloy, Fitzgerald and Doolup feed barley during the term of the project. The program has enabled a sustained field and single seed descent program to be conducted in the Esperance region; the integration and development of kernel discolouration germplasm and the development of scald and spot form of net blotch germplasm; conventional breeding, doubled haploids and male sterile re rrent selection methods have been applied to achieve results.
