All states plan to have nationally uniform food legislation in place based on a model food act. The new laws require all Western Australian food producers, to produce safe suitable food. Provides some details on the new legislation applying to primary food production and food businesses, defines safe and suitable food, inspections, direct sales to the public, exports, disposal of waste food to livestock and national primary industry standards.
