This paper aims to briefly investigate farming systems issues in the medium and low rainfall regions of the south west land division of Western Australia; identify options and opportunities for the fat tailed sheep breeds present in Western Australia (that is, Awassi, Afrikaner, Namaqua, Damara, and Karakul); capture some research about the tail; and investigate market options surrounding the fat tailed sheep breeds.
