Barber's pole worm (Haemonchus contortus) is an important roundworm parasite of sheep in coastal and high rainfall areas of Western Australia. Large worm burdens can develop very rapidly, causing sheep deaths without warning. Provides details of the life cycle, distribution, sheep at risk, signs of haemonchosis, broad and narrow spectrum drenches, risk factors for haemonchosis, controlling haemonchosis outbreaks, preventing haemonchosis, and goats and barber's pole worms.
