Aspects of agronomy, weed control, nutrition and disease control were investigated in order to formulate viable cropping techniques for the erosion prone south coastal sandplain. The yield potential of wheat was achieved by eliminating root disease, cultivation and supplying adequate nutrition on the deeper, but not the shallower soils of the region.
