Whole-farm bio-economic models of the crop/livestock system have been developed and applied to the Eastern, Northern and parts of the Central Wheatbelt under the acronym MIDAS (Model of an Integrated Dryland Agricultural System). A number of findings have emerged over the course of the modelling work which have guided more specific analyses.
