Abstract: Commercial protea growing in Australia, started in 1978 and today, thirty percent of the total commercial crop is growing in Western Australia. With the establishment of mature crops, birds are now emerging as a major problem. At present limited financial information is available about commerical protea farming. To overcome this limitation, growers were asked to complete a survey. There was also little statistical data showing the relationship between protea yield reduction due to birds and the effort
