Abstract: This DVD looks at several ways of treating salt afffected land. The catchment approach looks at the problem over a wider area than the immediately affected area. Some crops and crop rotations use more water than others thereby reducing the water level. Deep drainage is used on waterlogged sites. A system of subsurface drains allows the salt water to be flushed away from the area. Saltbush can be used to reduce salinity and as feed for sheep. Pumping can be used when the water comes to the surface du
