Growers submitted for testing 183 samples from crops which had not been inspected. The distribution of the results was in marked contrast to those from the inspected crops but similar to that obtained in the previous year when only one early inspection was undertaken. Whereas 61 percent of the crops inspected produced seed testing zero, only 30 percent of those not inspected tested clear of CMV.
