Land use classes identified as benefiting from the introduction of either new, or improved, regional ecotypes are : (a) abandoned or marginal crop land (b) wet, grass or reed dominant cayir (c) grass dominant yayla (d) overgrazed meras of low plant cover. For (a) marginal or abandoned crop lands : (i) lucerne (ii) sainfoin (iii) vetches and (iv) annuals. (b) Wet meadows are potentially very productive lands.
