An economic evaluation of burr medics contribution to increased agricultural production showed that the new medics increased the gross value of production in the State by 7 million Australian dollars/annum in 1988. This value could be expected to increase as the area sown continues to increase. Burr medic regeneration in 1989 was excellent with densities up to 15,332 plants/m2 being recorded.
