Abstract:

This project has shown that lupins can be grown on the south coast of Western Australia. Trial yields have been consistently over 2t/ha, and often in the range 3-4t.ha. Farmers who have adopted the package approach developed in these projects have achieved 2t/ha crops. Continued development of the package, particularly refinement of lupin nutrition on the sandplain, development of wider row spacing and zero tillage machinery for sowing into stubble, and further analysis of the very early sowing problem
