Demonstration sites were set up. Each site was sign posted and a handout made available which outlined the major components of successful barley production. The demonstration sites were supported by a series of autumn seminars and spring field days in 1989. Research continued in three main areas. Firstly on the adaption of varieties to sowing dates in the variety x time of sowing experiments.
