Abstract:

Two trials were commenced in 1978 at Wongan Hills and Badgingarra to investigate the nitrogen fertilizer requirement of wheat in a 1:1 rotation (PW) compared to a 2:1 rotation . This report covers the results obtained up to the end of the 1988 growing season. The trials were a split plot design with each phase of each rotation represented in duplicate each year, giving a total of ten blocks. Within each of these blocks seven rates of ammonium nitrate (0, 38, 76, 114, 152, 228, 456 ha/ha) were randomized.
