This Code of Practice for the welfare of animals has been prepared by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture. It is based on a model Code of Practice, endorsed by the Australian Agricultural Council. The Code identifies those features of sheep husbandry where the welfare of the animals may be at risk unless certain precautions are taken and recommends, in broad terms, what those precautions should be.
