During the 1990 the Stone Fruit Committee of Western Australia resolved to improve the marketability of stone fruit and in particular export plums. To achieve this objective the Stone Fruit Committee with the assistance of teh Department of Agriculture and the Horticultural Export Development Council introduced, during the 1990/91 season, a quality management system for selected export plums.
