On the marginally acidic, medium textured soils, burr medic (Medicago polymorpha cvs. Serena and Santiago) was more responsive to the applied phosphorus (P) and had a high P requirement than subclover (Trifolium subterraneum cv. Nungarin), according to both criteria. The average ratio of curvature coefficients for harvests less than 60 DAS was 0.66, for harvests between 90 to 115 DAS, 0.50 and for seed production, 0.76.On the acidic, light textured soils, yellow serradella (Ornithopus compressus cv. Made rr medic (cvs. Serena, Santiago and Circle Valley) was greater than subclover (cvs. Nungarin and Dalkeith), which was greater than yellow serradella (cv. Madeira), regardless of soil type.
