Nearly all of the vast pastoral and agricultural areas in Western Australia is now contained within 132 Land Conservation Districts (LCD), each with a coordinating committee. At least 209 catchment sub-groups occur within the agricultural LCD. This has been a remarkable growth since the first LCD was proclaimed in 1983, and by several measures landcare group development has been highly successful.
