Sowing between mid May and early June produced the highest grain yield. For plantings after early June, yields declined by approximately 250 kg/ha (15 percent) per week. Delayed sowing caused a decrease in dry matter and kernel number. Time of sowing did not influence grain protein or the amount of screenings. Hectolitre weight increased when sowing was delayed.
