Studies into the control of ovine dermatophilosis in WRDC project DAW 048 identified a haemolysin based vaccine as having potential for preventing the disease. Developmental work on the vaccine showed that it was active against a wide range of D congolensis strains both in vito and in vivo. Investigation of a range of adjuvants with the vaccine led to selection of an appropriate vaccine adjuvant combination for pen and field evaluation.
