This project is a feasibility study of ways in which the planning processes associated with rural development might be improved. It was initiated by the Sustainable Rural Development Program of Agriculture Western Australia, in the light of increasing competition and conflict between land users in the South-West Region. The coastal plain of the Region is experiencing rapid growth of residential areas, the mining and minerals processing industries, light industry and tourism. Rural communities have opportu
