The major aim of the trial was to assess the effectiveness of permanent trapyards as a system for managing total grazing pressure. Permanent trapyards potentially offer a cost-effective system of controlling domestic stock, feral goats and kangaroos. Criteria used to find a suitable trial location included: the number and distribution of water points contained within a property; the number of alternative (natural) water points present; proximity to the domestic goat trial at Winderie station.
