Wheat production is the largest of Western Australia's agricultural industries with an average Gross Value of Agricultural Production (GVAP) over the last 5 years of A$1.6 billion. In 1997/98, cereal production represented 42% of the state's agricultural and fisheries production and 48% of the State's agricultural and fisheries exports.
