Large scale field trials were conducted to determine the value of three electronic scaring devices and one type of gas cannon. Certain other devices such as imitation hawks, balloons, and the use of 'eye patterns' for frightening parrots were also investigated. The results indicate that none of the devices had any significant effect on parrots and that they were not cost-effective at the damage levels recorded.
